چکیده

Ordered mesoporous carbon-supported calcium oxide materials have been rationally synthesized for the first time. Large specific surface area, high content of nanosized calcium oxides can be easily obtained and tuned. The structure, porosity and the particle size evolution as a function of calcium content and carbonization temperature are extensively characterized and well correlated with their CO(2) sorption properties. The composite materials are of significance for CO(2) physisorption at ambient temperatures with high capacity and selectivity over N(2). Meanwhile, the nanocrystalline calcium oxides are highly active for CO(2) chemisorption, with tuneable and high CO(2) capacity at 200-500 °C. An almost complete initial conversion and fast reaction kinetics at a low temperature (450 °C) and low CO(2) pressure can be achieved within minutes. Cyclic stability is also substantially improved due to the confinement effect of the CaO nanoparticles within the mesopores. These materials would be suitable for CO(2) separation over a wide range of temperatures.

Chemical Capture of CO2 by Glycine Salt Solution

The role of carbon dioxide in global warming is one of the contemporary environmental issues and it is, therefore, necessary to have available technology to capture the released CO2 into the atmosphere. Amino acids have the same amine functionality as alkanolamines with similar behavior towards CO2 absorption. The solubility of carbon dioxide in potassium glycinate (KG) solutions with different...

Stepwise Synthesis of Mesoporous Carbon Nitride Functionalized by Melamine Based Dendrimer Amines for Adsorption of CO2 and CH4

In this study, a novel solid dendrimer amine (hyperbranched polymers) was prepared using mesoporous carbon nitride functionalized by melamine based dendrimer amines. This adsorbent was denoted MDA-MCN-1. The process was stepwise synthesis and hard-templating method using mesoporous silica SBA-15 as a template. Cyanuric chloride and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (DIPEA, Merck) were used for function...

Efficient and reversible CO2 capture by amine functionalized-silica gel confined task-specific ionic liquid system

Simple, efficient and practical CO2 capture method is reported using task-specific ionic liquid (IL) supported onto the amine-functionalized silica gel. The results have been shown that both the capacity and rate of the CO2 absorption notably increase in the supported IL/molecular sieve 4 Å system in comparison of homogeneous IL. Additionally, it has shown that the prepared material is capable ...

Effect of K2O on the catalytic performance of Ni catalysts supported on nanocrystalline Al2O3 in CO2 reforming of methane

CO2 reforming of methane (CRM) over unpromoted and potassium promoted Ni/Al2O3 catalysts was studied. The catalysts were prepared by impregnation method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption (BET), temperature programmed reduction (TPR), temperature programmed oxidation (TPO) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques. The obtained results showed that addition of K2...

Mesoporous Silica Based Gold Catalysts: Novel Synthesis and Application in Catalytic Oxidation of CO and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

Gold nanoparticles, particularly with the particle size of 2–5 nm, have attracted increasing research attention during the past decades due to their surprisingly high activity in CO and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) oxidation at low temperatures. In particular, CO oxidation below room temperature has been extensively studied on gold nanoparticles supported on several oxides (TiO2, Fe2O3, Ce...
